About Christina’s Criollo
I’m Christina Maldonado, chef and owner of Christina’s Criollo.
Our stand is called Christina’s Criollo, because here you can sample my family recipes from Puerto Rico. We offer breakfast and lunch specials, soup, traditional Puerto Rican desserts as well as Latin inspired side salads and my signature SOFRITO!
Being Latina, you learn at an early age your way around the kitchen. I learned how to cook my native cuisine from my mother and father, and I also have an associates degree in Culinary Arts & Restaurant Management from the Pennsylvania School of Culinary Arts in Lancaster, PA.
I am very passionate and proud to offer deliciously savory Puerto Rican food!
In 2010, I started Catering by Christina to provide authentic Puerto Rican food and exceptional service for any event.
As the business grew I wanted to be able to provide Puerto Rican food to more then those who needed a catered event–and what better way then to be a part of The Lancaster Central Market. In 2015 our market stand opened, where you get to sample my family recipes that remind you of “abuelita’s” cooking!
In 2017, our business grew even more! Catering by Christina merged with Upohar. We renamed the market stand to Christina’s Criollo since we only serve authentic Puerto Rican cuisine (comida criolla) here. Our catering branch is now called Global Flavors Catering, because through this we offer a wide range of menus from all over the world — including Puerto Rican, American, and distinctive vegan cuisine. And the Upohar food truck takes our food on the road, to various festivals and events, including private parties!
